XLamp LEDs produced by CREE Incorporation, have a long-term experience in semiconductor light sources, have high light efficiencies. Key to Cree’s advantage is an unrivalled material's expertise in silicon carbide (SiC), which allows to produce LED' chips in epitaxy process more precisely and with better structure order. CREE Incorporation, thanks to using high quality materials in producing XLamp LEDs, achieved very high reliability and a lifetime level above thousands of hours. To be certainly sure of information about reliability of LEDs, CREE has run the most stringent test of LEDs lifetime since 2004, called: "real test". They are testing LEDs bright during their work. Surface-mount technology - reflow solderable

XLamp LEDs are surface-mount components designed to reflow soldering by using automative dispensing system. XLamp LEDs are designed to meet all criterias of RoHS. SMT allows to produce small and huge series of modules in a very short time. It is especially important when each client needs his/her specific order "just in time".

Safe low operating voltage

XLamp LEDs should be driven at direct currents. Typical forward voltages range from 1,8V up to 4,2V and depend on the current value and semiconductor features. They are completely safe operating voltages.

Electrically neutral thermal path

Thermal path allows to draw main part of heat away from the LED junction. Thermal path is electrically neutral in XLamp LEDs. This benefit comes from features of silicon carbide (SiC), which is an insulator. That is why there is no need to use insulator between thermal path and substrate (usually MCPCB radiator). It makes montage process easier and minimizes costs of manufacturing modules with many LEDs. Thermal paths of XLamp LEDs can be connected with each other.

Very small footprint of LED

XLamp LEDs have compact packages. They do not have any external leads and elements that can disturb. LED's package is small, estetic and ergonomic. XLamp LED's package incorporates a ceramic substrate, LED chip with a gel cover, durable metal reflector and glass lens. Nomenclature of XLamp LEDs depends on the size, so we have XLamp 4550 (4,5mm x 5,0mm) and XLamp 7090 (7,0mm x 5,0mm).

ESD > 2000V

High electrostatic resistance of XLamp LEDs lets to minimize losses connected with failures which makes montage easier and allows to have 100% reliable series of products.
